Overview

2015 AB293 is a small asteroid that orbits between Mars and Jupiter in the outer reaches of the main asteroid belt. NASA JPL has not classified 2015 AB293 as potentially hazardous because its orbit does not bring it close to Earth.

2015 AB293 orbits the sun every 3,300 days (9.03 years), coming as close as 2.29 AU and reaching as far as 6.38 AU from the sun. Based on its brightness and the way it reflects light, 2015 AB293 is probably between 0.742 to 1.660 kilometers in diameter, making it larger than ~97% of asteroids but small compared to large asteroids, very roughly comparable in size to the Golden Gate Bridge.
